GDPR PRIVACY POLICY

Laura Hoadley Photography Privacy policy

I like to take photos of people, pets and commercial interiors. I’m a one-woman-band and according new legislation, this means I need to inform all my customers of how I use their data. Yes, that’s right, I’m talking about GDPR, or to use the full terminology; General Data Protection Regulations.

So, here I am telling you how I collect your data, what type of data I collect, what I use it for, and how I keep it safe.

Here is how I collect data

When you make a booking with me for photoshoot, it is often via Facebook Messenger, my website www.laurahoadleyphotography.com, word of mouth or in person.

When undertaking school or pre-school photographs, parents are asked to complete a form on the front of the envelope that comes with their proof. This asks for personal information to process the order correctly and efficiently.

This is what type of data I collect

  • Full name

  • Email address – personal or business depending on the nature of the photo shoot

  • Landline and mobile number

  • Postal address - only required for posting images or if I am to attend a photoshoot at

    the property

  • Social media name

  • How I use your data

I use personal contact information to arrange photoshoots and to deliver proofs and printed photographs.

From time to time, I will ask permission to use your images to showcase my services to potential clients. Provided you agree to such use, images will be displayed on my website

and on my social media platforms. I will not assign any personal information to the images unless you specify this.

When photographing children in Schools/Pre Schools and clubs, I email the edited images to my GDPR compliant print company (no personal details are passed on apart from the images). Once printed, the proofs and prints are securely posted back to me for signed delivery.

How I store your information

  • Photographs taken as part my work will be retained on secure hard drives as a backup. I intend to hold them for approximately 5 years or less.

  • With prior written consent from the customer, images may be used in my portfolio and published on my website and social media pages. The customer has the right to ask me to remove the images at any point.

  • The names and contact details of my customers are only stored to comply with tax laws for admin and auditing purposes and would never be passed on to a third party or for any reason.

Your right to be removed from my files

If at any point a customer changes their mind about using their images online, I will promptly remove them from my website and social media platforms to the best of my ability. Unfortunately, this does not guarantee full removal from the internet, as the images may have already been shared among my followers.

If you would like me to permanently delete any of images from your photo shoot or your personal information that I store on my computer system, please let me know I will do so immediately.

Should you believe, I store your personal data and you would like to know what information I have, please get in touch at laurahoadleyphotography@gmail.com, or call 07971 776486.

    Thank you
